If you are receiving this email, you are one of 290 people who at some point signed up for my blog/newsletter called The Positude. It’s a blog I used to run for about 10 years from 2013 to 2023. I took a long break in 2023 following the passing of my dear father, but have recently been itching to resume my writing journey.
My desire to share thoughts in writing has somewhat been fueled by the recent success I have seen on Social Media, especially Instagram, where I have grown my audience by 12.5x from 40K to ~500K followers in under 3 months over the summer – mostly driven by my 50-part series on how to build more meaningful relationships and connect deeply with others. That series was inspired by my 2015 Tedx Talk called “Breaking the Habit of Smalltalk.”
The “how” I pulled off that insane growth is for another time, but for now I just wanted to share with you that I’m back at the keyboard, writing “longer form” content that builds on top of a lot of the things that I will be sharing on my Instagram and TikTok in short-form format. I’ve also decided to rebrand my newsletter to “Beyond the Smalltalk” or “BTS” for short. As much as I loved The Positude, I felt it was time for me to move on and launch this chapter with a new name. Beyond the Smalltalk is all about helping you become a better communicator and connect more deeply with the world around you.
My goal for now is to start this email as a free newsletter, and then charge my readers a monthly/annual membership for a range of benefits such as deep dives, early access to my posts, my personal tools and framework, in-depth breakdowns, etc. So if you feel like supporting my work as a creator, please consider subscribing.
That’s really it for now. I just wanted to say hi after so long, tell you I’m doing well, and welcome you to this new chapter on my journey. If you know of anyone else who might benefit from this newsletter, please let them know. Btw, I respond to all emails, so if you have any feedback or thoughts to share, just hit reply and I’ll get back to you!
Thank you, Omid Scheybani.
